Frequently Asked Questions

When will it happen? We'll hold our opening ceremonies on Saturday morning, August 31st, but camp registration will open on Friday evening at 7:00 PM. We'll be there until 11:00 AM on Monday the 2nd.

Where will it be? In 2024, it'll be held at Camp Wasaga. Map: Website: It's a cabin-based campground about 270 km (165 miles) from Winnipeg, a drive of about three hours. It's about one hour north of Brandon. It's south of Riding Mountain National park, just west of Onanole, and you don't need a pass to get in.

How will I get there? If you have a parachute or a private helicopter, I guess you could fly straight there! Otherwise, we recommend flying to Brandon or Winnipeg and then renting a car. Ask around in our Telegram chat to see if anyone wants to carpool.

What will I need to bring? First of all, make sure you bring your ID for registration. Make sure you have all the usual camping supplies: Sunscreen, insect repellent, some soaps and lotions, a beach towel, swimwear, water shoes, a few changes of clothes. A light jacket might be nice if the nights get cool. Your cabin will have a bed for you, but you'll need to bring a sleeping bag and pillow, or sheets and blankets. And if there are specific snacks you like, you might want to bring some of those. See the full list on the Info page.

Do I need to do anything before the camp? Make sure you log in and complete all the information we collect. We need to know if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, and we need contact information for someone close to you in case of an emergency. Also, make sure you think about what you'd normally be doing over a weekend, and get any pets, children, and mail taken care of!

What amenities are provided? You'll have access to showers and toilets in the bathhouses. The cabins have electricity and (if necessary) heating. There's a small portion of the kitchen that's publicly accessible with sinks and a microwave. Coffee will be made each morning, and light snacks will be available all day. There are books and board games, too. There's a play structure in the main field.

What are the camp rules? Camp Wasaga allows us a lot of freedom, so we'll be deciding our own rules around quiet hours, use of the space, and smoking areas. You can visit the Info page for those and for Wasaga's general rules.

Where will the money be going? In short: into the event itself. We'll be examining charities for future years, but the first few will focus on solidifying our base.

Can I pay in installments? If you'd like to put money away with each paycheque, we do accept PAD agreements with Canadian banks.
